Chris Spendlove was born and raised in Plymouth, Devon and has been drawing for about 30 years. During his service with the Ministry of Defence Police he produced artwork for The Band of H.M. Royal Marines - Plymouth (cartoons for the Band's programmes) and for the Royal Navy at HMS Raleigh (mainly poster work and cartoons). During this time, people saw the detailed pencil drawings he did and was frequently told, "You're in the wrong job and should do that for a living!" Since leaving (and eventually following that advice), he has returned to his passion of producing detailed pencil drawings.
Chris lives in Plymouth and continues to draw, hoping to concentrate on it full time in the future.
